Hi, we are Mariette Papić and Carmen Baričević Papić the mother and daughter behind Baba’s Bench!
Welcome to Baba’s Bench! We are Mariette and Carmen, a mother and daughter duo dedicated to making traditional culture and stories available to everyone. Carmen comes from Croatia, from the rather tiny island of Ilovik, and Mariette was born in Newark, NJ, USA. Like many families with their hearts and roots in two places, we want to share the best of both worlds. As times change and technology takes over storytelling by the fire, we figured it was time to do our work online!
Baba’s Bench is our project, but it’s also named in appreciation, as kind of tribute to the many generations who came before us.
